README FILE for Frama F-Link IP Finder CONTENTS I. INTRODUCTION II. HOW TO START AND USE THE PROGRAM III. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS I. INTRODUCTION The "Frama F-Link IP Finder" is a helper program for searching Frama F-Link devices in your network. If an F-Link device is connected to a DHCP network (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) the F-Link device receives a dynamic IP address (Internet Protocol) from the DHCP server in the network. For additional settings via the configuration website of the F-Link device this dynamic IP address needs to be known in order to access the configuration website of the F-Link device via your web browser. The program "Frama F-Link IP Finder" searches for specific F-Link devices by MAC address (Media Access Control) in your network. The "Frama F-Link IP Finder" program shall only be executed on a PC with Microsoft Windows operation system (refer to minimum requirements) that is connected to the same network as the F-Link device. II. HOW TO START AND USE THE PROGRAM Windows 1. To install the program, download the .exe file from the website www.frama.com to a folder of your choice on your system (e.g. C:\Program Files\Frama\). 2. Double-click on the .exe file in your folder to execute the program. 3. The program shows the end user agreement (EULA). You must agree the end user agreement to use the program. 4. After acceptance of the EULA the main program window will be displayed. 5. Enter the MAC address of the F-Link device. The program will identify the IP address of the F-Link using the specified MAC address. The MAC address of the F-Link device is printed on the label at the bottom of the F-Link device. For searching all F-Link devices in the network leave the input field MAC address empty. Please note, there are two MAC addresses: LAN - Use this MAC address when the F-Link device is connected to the network using a cable connection (LAN). WLAN - Use this MAC address when the F-Link device is connected to the network using a wireless connection (Wi-Fi / WLAN). 6. Check that the F-Link device is powered-on and is connected to the network. LED PWR is enabled. LED LAN or Wi-Fi is enabled. 7. Check that the F-Link device startup process has been finished. LED READY must be switched on constantly. 8. Press button Search. 9. The program searches the F-Link device in your network. One or all F-Link devices found in your network will be listed with the corresponding IP address and MAC address. 11. Check that the MAC address of the list entry is equal to the MAC address on the label of your F-Link. 12. Open the configuration website of the F-Link device by double-click on the IP address entry of the list in the "Frama F-Link IP Finder" program.
